FARAWAY HAS MADE IT

9:30am on November 25 - after 38 days at sea Faraway has arrived in St Maarten safely. She has also cleared customs which is incredible considering the amount of special refreshments that I had packed on board. We are so excited and will be having a special celebration tonight and of course again when we arrive in the Caribbean. It's been a long journey but it will be worth it!

Faraway Delivery Update

Faraway arrived in Antigua early this morning. She is one day away from her final destination of St. Maarten in the Caribbean. We are pretty relieved and impressed by the crew who have done such a great job of sailing her there. We will be having a virtual celebration tomorrow as soon as she arrives in port. Faraway left Chichester on October 19 and the expected ETA is Thursday, November 25 so that's a nicely timed passage.

Delivery Update

Faraway is due to arrive in St Maarten in 5 more days. It's been a great test for her crossing the Atlantic. We can't wait to get on board in a few weeks time.

Faraway Delivery Crew

Faraway left Chichester Marina on October 19 to start her voyage across the Atlantic to the Caribbean with a professional delivery crew of 4 sailors. Only hitch at this stage has been dirty fuel. The crew had to stop in Cameret, France to empty 1000 litres of the dirty fuel and refuel her with clean mix. Bit expensive but had to be done.

The crew have arrived in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria after a fairly trouble free passage. Only issues of significance are a bit of wear on the staysail and also to the luff of the genoa. They are having them fixed prior to setting off for St. Maarten in the next couple of days. They should arrive in St. Maarten in approximately 26 days all being well.

We plan to meet Faraway on December 14 when we land in St. Maarten.

The guys are doing a great job and we wish them an easy passage!

More UK Visitors

Wilksy, Karen, Amber and Amelia (frozen baby in stroller) popped down for a visit on one of England's not so finest weather days. We promised that if they joined us sailing in the Caribbean things would get a whole lot better. Let's hope we see them again soon.
