Anguilla and Rough Weather

We didn’t get a good night sleep as the swell was so strong and we were worried about our yacht moving. ‘Aquarius’ one of the super yachts moored next to us and they kept checking their anchor with a powerful strobe. Earlier in the day we had the super yacht ‘Barbie’ moor beside us to clear customs. What an amazing yacht. Ian, Joanne and I headed to shore to clear our with immigration and have a walk before our next sailing leg to Simpson Bay on St. Maarten to seek shelter. The weather didn't look too bad in the bay but we could see white caps out to sea which isn't a good sign. The swells were really big between 2.5 to 3 metres in height and the winds were gusting at 30 knots. A lot of dishes got broken and it wasn’t a very pleasant sail. The sea looked nothing like the brochures that we had been reading and after a couple of hours sailing we were looking forward to a safe marina.
